The paper deals with the ways and means of eliminating primary and secondary water scarcity threats to an acceptable level and at the same time reducing the risk of contamination of surface water by water used in fire interventions.
Adding structural fibres into concrete has an impact, both positive and negative, on the long-term durability of concrete. Polymer fibres do not resist shrinkage of the concrete, steel fibres, on the other hand, create a tough skeleton preventing deformation. Porous structure of fibre concretes exposed for a long time in the environment of CO2 is estimated using the method of determining the coefficient of diffusion resistence and the method of determining the capillary hight. Comparison of measured capillary hight and diffusion coefficient of fibreconcrete samples bring the knowledge, that close correlation between both quantities does not exist, due to the physical difference between determination of both quantities.
The article informs briefly about the international standardization of ISO, IEC, CEN and CENELEC in the field of fire safety, as well as the competence of the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing. It emphasizes their importance, including the significance of fire tests and the need to present the uncertainties of their quantitative and qualitative results.
With strengthening of damaged concrete linear elements have been engaged since 2003. It is a co – ÚSTARCH SAS Bratislava, FCE University of Zilina, STU Bratislava. Repaired the damaged components – new the coupling plate with reinforced contact, the coupling plate without reinforcement – replacing the geometrical condition of contact. The use of GFRP panels. The effect of the time factor on both the MS.
When rebuilding the HVAC systems, it is necessary to respect the implementing regulations which define the framework of the certified technical procedures. In a number of examples of practice, it shows the absence of these facts. The article deals with the implementing standards and recommendations for the assembly and acceptance process of heating systems. It is designed not only for assembly companies, but also for investors and administrators who take over the work and then use it.
The detail of the chimney system passage is one of the possible details, from a fire point of view, that occurred due to the installation of new chimney systems in to the construction of the building. The chimney system passing through the combustible structure is one of the most dangerous details in the building, from a fire safety point of view, and as practice shows, is often very underestimated. An appropriate solution for the chimney passage requires the knowledge and correct design, as well as the realization and consequently correct use of the thermal appliance and the chimney system. The article deals with passage according to the requirements of the national standards for fire segments and design according to STN EN for chimneys.
In the area of existing thermal energy supply systems, the processes of disconnection of existing heat consumers have been ongoing for a long time. The key point is correctness of the Energy Certificates. The article provides an example of a specific assessment of disconnection from central source heat supplier.
The text describes why and under what conditions the use of beech wood in building structures. Given the legislative and experimental requirements for verification of properties of beech sorting into classes of forts "D". Evaluation of the quality beech wood over the strength of the reliable design, production technology class predictive level as well as the durability of wooden building elements.
Cellulose insulation is one of the minority types of heat insulating materials, but their use has increased significantly in recent years. The aim of the contribution is to assess the impact of its bulk weight on the processes of smothering and glowing. The resistance wire was used as the initiator. In addition to visual observation, carbon dioxide concentrations and optical smoke density were also recorded. The results were evaluated in the form of graphs and tables.
A light pipe prototype with a concentrating mirror parabolic head was tested for temperature profiles under solar radiation. The purpose of the testing is to find maximal temperature and estimate potential risks with overheating in the position of the pipe installation into roof structures and materials.
The article deals with the economic assessment of energy saving measures as a further continuation of the topic of reconstruction of HVAC systems in apartment buildings. Selection of economical lifespan for selected elements and functional parts with preventive maintenance costs is provided. Finally, an example of the apartment building evaluation is given.
Article deals with finding of physical and mechanical properties of timber at various moisture and it also verifies addictions of single properties on moisture content of timber. In experimental part of this thesis, the density, the dimensional and volumetric swelling and the compressive strength parallel to fibre will be determined on test samples. After evaluating all the tests, the graphs of these parameters depend on various samples of wood moisture determined by weight will be created.
Eco-design is a set of parameters (especially energy efficiency) that must be observed by the supplier (the manufacturer or importer) of the energy-related product when it is placed on the EU market or into operation. The article provides an overview of requirements for new sources and boiler rooms in relation to implemented regulations.
The article analyses the impact of the new atomic law and its implementing decree on the design of radon preventive and remedial measures in residential buildings. The relationship between the newly introduced reference level and optimisation of the design, that gains importance, is explained. The article also discusses reasons that speak against the provision of the new law that radon index of the building site need not be determined, when a preventive measure based on soil ventilation is being designed.
Tobermorite is the main mineral compound of AAC. It increases its mechanical properties. There needs to be done research of influence of type of silica components on the mineralogical compound of AAC. In the presence study, we examine the usage of nature and artificial silicious materials. Closure of the study will be design of the optimal raw material composition, also hydrothermal treatment of autoclaved aerated concrete.
The paper deals with the issue and classification of burning processes. Basic crisis situations and situations that occur during the existence of mankind are also fires. Examination of burning processes is closely related to fires, as they pose uncontrollable and unlimited burning in space and time. Fire occurring not only in the natural environment (eg forest fires) but also in various industrial, transport, manufacturing, processing and storage technologies, in accommodation facilities and elsewhere. Controllable and controlled burning processes can be useful for humans, for example: domestic heating, cooking and others. Uncontrollable combustion processes (fires) can cause serious losses and threats to health, life, property, tangible and intangible property and the environment. Burning is a set of complex physicochemical processes in which flammable substances and materials react with oxidizing agents and change to combustion products (combustion products). Burning is accompanied by intense radiation of heat, light energy, and smoke. The combustion processes can be classified according to different criteria.
